PedalUK is the parent company behind three of the UK’s most innovative cycling brands: Peddle My Wheels, Try Before You Bike, and OurBike.

As a social enterprise, we are defined by two core ambitions: to lead a socially, ethically, and environmentally responsible business, and to help people transition toward a more sustainable way of living. We believe that by making cycling the easiest choice, we make the world a better place.

Our Story

The idea for the group grew from a "bedroom business" started by our founder, Alper Muduroglu, in 2014. While originally selling pre-owned children's gear, Alper discovered a massive surplus of outgrown bikes and a corresponding demand from parents who couldn't afford to upgrade every year. Peddle My Wheels was born!

Since then, adult bikes have been added to the mix, a great team of people has joined the mission, and our impact has grown from a local initiative into a nationwide network.

Our Brands

• Try Before You Bike: Launched in 2017, this is our subscription-to-ownership scheme. We’ve made cycling affordable by including local council subsidies, insurance, accessories, and resources from day one. Every month brings the rider closer to owning their bike.

• OurBike: Established in 2021, this is now the UK’s largest community e-cargo bike share. Designed to replace the car or van for school runs, shopping, and deliveries, OurBike is powered by local people and hosted by trusted community hubs.

• Peddle My Wheels: The original heart of the business, focusing on making quality, circular-economy bicycles accessible through our markets and specialised programs.

It’s important to us that "About Us" isn't just about our dedicated team. Our success belongs to a much wider community: first and foremost, our kind and generous customers, without whom our schemes would not have evolved into what they have become. Then there are all the forward-thinking council officers, mechanics, instructors, teachers, premises managers, charities and community groups, climate campaigners, and business advisors who have helped us over the years.
